Winter Solstice Dance

As the sun pauses on its solstice path

You beckon me to a forest of bright mist

Where tall trunks of trees silhouette themselves

Against white snow; frozen woodland cameo

Moved to motion by the flickering grace

Of four startled deer;

Dancing light amidst black boughs.
